SHIGEKI ITO (JPN)
Shigeki discovered his passion for house music after he migrated from his native Japan to Australia; he started spinning at some of the top clubs on Sydney's Oxford Street in 2002 and quickly became one of the prolific DJs in Sydney's club scene, scoring big events such as Sydney Mardi Gras Party, Big Queer Nation, Sydney Harbour Party, and Toy Box to name but a few.
In 2008, Shigeki relocated to Singapore and has grown his international following; he has graced the decks at some of Singapore’s top clubs such as Phuture at Zouk, Happy and KU DÉ TA, as well as Atlantis Cruises (US/EU/Asia) and Wonderfruit (TH). He has played alongside international legends including Francois K, Miguel Migs, Horse Meat Disco, The Carry Nation, and Robert Owen.
Currently, Shigeki holds residencies at CÉ LA VI and W Singapore, as well as Mismatch and Man About Town parties. His sets reflect his love of house, disco, funk, soul, and everything in between. When he’s not deejaying, he is busy in the studio making mixes, mashups and edits, which can be heard on his music blog Sakura Galactic Mixes.
